De Fermo
We are in Loreto Aprutino, in Abruzzo, on the wonderful hills that face the Maiella and the Gran Sasso on one side and on the other the Adriatic sea.
Here, Stefano Papetti Ceroni and his wife Nicoletta de Fermo grow their own vineyards biodynamically. The belief is that to achieve a great result, the majority of the work must be oriented to the land, after that the wine only needs to be guided.
Stefano often talks about agricultural wine and wine that is alive, agricultural because made by farmers, alive because wholesome. Nothing added, nothing taken away. All the wines ferment spontaneously, there’s no use of selected yeasts and the wine doesn't undergo clarifications, stabilizations or filtrations.
The wines from De Fermo have a clear and strong style, aimed at producing clean wines but always of remarkable intensity.
