Bruna Flaibani
The Flaibani winery is located in the area of Cividale del Friuli in Udine, close to the border between Italy and Slovenia. It’s worth saying that before being a business this is a family that produces wine, a very artisanal production handled primarily by Bruna Flaibani.
The estate is formed by 3 hectares of vineyards and 6 hectares of forests that surround the vineyards. The production is very limited, less than 10’000 bottles per year. For farming the soils the choice was to utilize biological agriculture and in any case to exclusively utilize copper and sulfur.
Thinking of Friuli, you’d immediately tend to think of white wines. Their choice to focus primarily on red grape varieties is an interesting one, varieties that were historically being grown on that land, with vines sometimes hundreds of years old.
The agricultural methods are meticulous, fruit of thoughtfulness and care, stemming from the firm belief that the quality of the wine is a direct result of the level of care in the vineyard and the respect for the soils.
In the cellar just like in the vineyard the aim is to intervene as little as possible, guiding and preserving the wine through the path that the wine itself would have chosen.
