Denis Montanar
The Montanar Denis winery is located near Udine, in the Borc Dodòn area. The project started in 1995, taking its name from its founder Denis Montanar. A seemingly young project, but with several generations of farmers behind.
Already in 1996 Denise decided to start working with biological agriculture. Today, working with natural methods almost to the point of stubborness, he works his vineyards with great care together with his son Carlo, where the use of any chemical products has been banned since decades.
All the operations in the vineyard and in the cellar are characterized by simplicity and a rural common sense. All the wines ferment spontaneously, macerating on their skins, without addition of any selected yeasts or filtration.
This is how these unique wines with incredible character are made, rich and vibrant but with no frills.
